Surviving the Covid-19 "Pandemic"

When we hear the word "Pandemic" it's terrifying and unbelievable, right? Who thought they would be around for something like this is our lifetime. I certainly did not think this was something I would experience let alone with my child and becoming pregnant. I think we can all agree it has hindered us from all sorts of things like work, vacations, socializing and many more. We are all left wondering what do we do and where do we go from here?

I do believe we all need to take the proper precautions like washing our hands, wearing a mask and keeping 6 feet apart and keeping things clean and sanitized. Sure, you could be in excellent health and not take it as seriously as I do but let me explain why this is very crucial to keep others safe. What I hear most is it's just another form of the Flu.. okay, sure! Did you know not all people have the same immune system to even handle the Flu? My child is allergic to the flu shot itself and her health is not as great, so you would put someone like her at risk and that isn't fair, it's selfish. There is a new vaccine coming out, great! what will that do for my child? will she be allergic to that too? There is no telling but the one thing I am certain of is keeping her and others safe. I as some of you may know I am pregnant and have asthma which from age 3 I have been in and out of the hospital too many times to count because of it and know I am more high risk. I understand this is a tough time for all and we need money and miss our families and friends but you have to think about the other people you see around who have to go to the store or work to make an income, do your part. I don't go to the grocery store personally to limit my exposure but I did go to work because like many I have bills and a baby coming and was in fear of getting fired but after a recent scare it isn't worth it and caused me more stress then good and my job is currently closed for 3 weeks if not more. Why, because people don't care to social distance let alone wear a mask.

Mental Health: This is something we need to discuss as well during this unprecedented time, we need to take control of our mental health. I suffer from mild depression, PTSD and severe anxiety. So, let me tell you being inside all day doesn't help my mental state but there are options for you to speak to someone, come up with a hobby, schedule virtual chats with friends, go for a walk etc.. Don't let this bring you down or let it control you to where you go out because you can't handle it anymore.

Debt: I have recently looked into resources that can help with the bills you owe or have been late one while in this pandemic. You can dispute late payments on your credit score as well as calling the companies to lower your bill or freeze it sometimes even lower interests rates on loans. Take advantage of the covid relief packages they offer instead of letting it drown you. Also, make a budget this is crucial and many ways to create one. There are apps you can use and computer programs as well. I like to use the "Numbers" app on my iPhone and Mac because one they talk to each other and I can edit it wherever I go and I can easily share it with my husband to input our transactions for the month. Also if you are one who loves to work and need something to do and an income look into remote jobs (Permanent or Temporary). There is a ton out there.

I hope this made you aware, I hope it helped and I thank you for letting me vent. This isn't easy for anyone. Also, if you are able to shop this holiday season shop small and local because they need our support now more than ever.
