Fashion what a great way to express yourself and to stand out of the crowd, am I right? I was born in New York and fashion has always been something I have loved as well as the city life. I wore heels when I was 15 years old and let me tell you I got judged a lot by the outfits and shoes I wore when I moved to North Carolina, that didn't stop me. I don't think anyone could ever stop me from wearing something that makes me feel so empowered, I remember being young and being told "Always dress to impress, because you never know who you are going to meet." Let me tell you, that stuck with me and I still say that to this day. Those classmates at the time didn't get where I came from and how this all was my life. My summers I went back and fourth to New York to visit with family and friends, I stayed with my Aunt who at the time worked for Lifetime Network, so getting dressed to go to work with her was a must. Also, Tyra Banks who at the time had her talk show there was in the same building so I was determined to make sure I impressed whoever I met. My go to item to purchase is shoes, I love my shoes and I will pick out an outfit specifically to go with the shoes I own. My Aunt always loved taking me to go shopping, hair done and learn to do my makeup. I am so grateful to her because all those things today is still what makes me happy. I don't have to go anywhere and doing my makeup just makes me feel good and excited to start my day. I think my biggest pet peeve is when someone assumes I need to put it on to make me feel "Pretty" or impress someone, No!! it's something that makes me feel on top of this world. I can go out with a great outfit and good skincare routine and feel beautiful but when I spend an hour to do a specific look on makeup and slay it then I feel accomplished and proud because lets be real any guy you meet or are dating will never even notice. Fun fact: when I was in fourth grade I used to buy fabric and cut up my old clothes and make new ones. I was taught by my mom how to sew at an early age so I was able to do all sorts of projects. That was something that I thought was fun and when my friends noticed and asked me to make them something out of their old wardrobe, I was ecstatic. I did want to become a Fashion Designer but those plans changed when I became a young mom, could I still do it oh absolutely but being away from my child wasn't an ideal situation since the school I wanted to attend is in NY and with my husbands job now that would be very tricky since we move all the time. Maybe I'll come back to that thought eventually but for now I can post all my cool ideas in hopes it helps you.
